Remains of Summer

love the fall and summer contrast here.

watching daddy work in the yard from the front door.
Logan wanted out but it was too cold.
one of our fall plants that we love.

I love how every year summer seems to stagger in our yard. There are hints of summer everywhere still. The proof is on our rose bushes. We have beautiful blooms sprouting everywhere! I love it and it makes me think of wramer temperatures. We have been cutting them off and putting them in vases in our house. I am sure the flowers will be gone soon but we sure are enjoying the last hints of summer now!

Girl time (plus Logan)

Yesterday was just what I needed. A little girl time with one of my bf's, Jody. She just happens to be an amazing hair stylist. So yesterday I was pampered by getting my hair and make up done too! We had our coffee and caught up with each other. Logan had a blast running around with her 3 golden retrievers. We grabbed some chinese food and then Logan and I headed home. What a great day! Thanks Jody! Cracker Barrel is in our near future! : )

Fort Story, Virginia Beach

handsome hubbs.

logan wants down!

bootprints in the sand...

doing what I do best...carrying my kiddum on my hip.

another one of my bests...bending over to pick my kiddo up!

somebody is unhappy!

We went to Fort Story in Virginia Beach today. This has been on my list of things-to-do for quite a while. Fort Story is actually a military base. There are two lighthouses on this base. The new Cape Henry Lighthouse was bulit in 1881 to replace the old one that was thought to be unstable and cracking. The lighthouses were just beautiful! There is also a boardwalk that leads to the ocean front. We let Logan play there for a little while. He had a blast exploring. There was an awesome view of the lighthouses and huge rocks right on the ocean. We all were hungrey after spending quite some time at Fort Story. So we took Logan to McDonalds afterwards and he had his first happy meal! : ) For more information about Fort Story you can go to http://www.virginiawind.com/virginia_travel/fort_story.asp

Thanksgiving 2010

Hubbs cooked the turkey to perfection!

pie! : )

daddy and logan spinning round and round!

My little turkey celebrated his second Thanksgiving. My parents came down to eat with us again this year. We stuffed ourselves silly with all of our favorite dishes. Logan is really proving to be a mommom's boy. He followed my mom around everywhere. He was literally her shadow and it was so cute. He really thinks she is great and she was loving it! When they left to go home Logan was asleep. When he woke up he started running around everywhere saying mommom..mommom! He even ran to the front door looking for her. It was so sad. I called them on my cell phone so he could "talk" to her. They chatted for a bit and then I took the phone from him. Well...he had a FIT! I finally got him calmed down and gave him a bubble bath. We really had a nice day. However, we missed Jack's family and my sister and her family. We all have different traditions for Thanksgiving. We all come together for Christmas though! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with their loved ones!
