Dismal Swamp State Park

We took Logan to the Dismal Swamp State Park yesterday. As aweful as it sounds...it was actually quite pretty there. We took a long walk down a trail and enjoyed being outside in the nature. We stopped along the way to get a few pictures on a bench near the water. It was a beautiful fall day! Logan's Ho Ho hat was a big hit!

Logan's First Thanksgiving...

My family and I hope everyone had a nice Turkey Day! Jack and I hosted Thanksgiving this year at our house in Virginia. Jack and I got up early to have our coffee and to starting preparing for our marvelous feast. I turned on the Macy's Day Parade and enjoyed my morning with Jack and my favorite little person. My parents joined us for the Thanksgiving this year. It is hard living away from family especially during the holidays. However, we are always keeping them close in our hearts. Jack cooked the most juicy turkey I have ever tasted and I helped cook this year too. Ham, mac and cheese, stuffing, mashed taters, baked pumpkin, cornbread...all the trimmings! It was a beautiful relaxing day and Logan's mommom and poppop enjoyed their time with him. God has blessed me with a good man and a healthy and beautiful baby boy and for this I am eternally thankful.

We are not going to be able to be together for Thanksgiving this year so my sister brought her family down for a visit this weekend. We had a big time with our niece in town. Logan thinks Gracie is so funny. I kept catching Logan smiling ear to ear at his big cousin. She adores Logan as well. She kept wanting to hold Logan's hand and give him kisses on his cheek. When Logan would cry she would say..."It's ok baby." They are so cute to watch together. They even got a bath together and Grace showed Logan how to swim. We went to the park and had a big time there on the slides and playing in the leaves. Heather, Gracie, and I had girlie time baking cookies while the boys hung out and had their guy time too! We even made a big trip to the mall to get their picture with Santa. Logan slept right through the whole thing. Grace was a little uneasy around Santa so her mommy and I jumped in the picture with the babies. It was a fun and relaxing weekend!

We took Logan to see Jack's side of the family for a few days. Logan had a great time hanging out with his cousins Collin, Caitlyn, and Cameron. We went out and ate at Bill's where Jack and I had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. Mommom Arlene ate with us too. It was nice to reminice over an excellent seafood meal. Mommom Arlene even cooked us a homemade seafood lunch which consisted of her famous homemade french fries, fried shrimp, clam fritters, and pumpkin pie. YUM! We were so spoiled. I was able to capture some great fall pictures of Collin and Caitlyn. My sister-in-law, Liz and I dressed Cameron up as Mrs. Clause and Logan as Santa and got some really great Christmas pictures for the holidays. Logan cried alomost the entire time. When Logan was being good Cameron started fussing. Despite the tears they were both still cute as buttons. Looking forward to watching Logan experience his first Thanksgiving anf Christmas!
