Pemberton Park

My sister and I took Grace, Gavin, and Logan to Pemberton Park to play. This was also a great opportunity for me to get some great pictures of the munchkins together. Pemberton Park is my cup of tea in regards to the atmosphere for photography. I love the "countriness" of it and the beautiful fencing, old barns, ponds, brick backdrops, the trees. It is just a very beautiful place nestled in Maryland. My niece, Grace usually is not into posing for pictures. However, on this particular day she was a little model and cheesed it up for me. I took advantage of it and snapped away! She was so precious. She did a good job holding her baby brother for pictures. My friend, Pat, made the knitted bear hats for the boys. They were a real hit with everyone! I love the innocence of children...especially the sweet innocence between Logan and Grace. She giggles and laughs with her whole heart when Logan babbles on about something. My newest nephew, Gavin is such a good baby! The baby boy sleeps through everything! When he is not sleeping he is alert as he can be and always has a precious smile on his face. Logan always takes it all in when he is around Grace. I really think he is amazed at her free spirit and energy. He is starting to really be able to keep up with her better now! What a nice day this was with some of my favorite people!

Feeding the goats.
I'm not going in this corn maze!

Here we are at Wright's Market! We had a blast watching the kids play in the hay maze, corn maze, feeding the animals, checking out the pumpkins and mums, and playing on the tricycle track. What a perfect fall day with my sister, my dad, niece, nephew, and Logan! Logan even drank from a straw for the first time on this day!

Salisbury University

Fountain in front of Futon Hall.
Building where I spent most my time in my major.
I graduated from SU in 2005. I had not stepped foot on campus since then. It was fun to go back with Logan and my mom. The campus is so very photogenic. I spent a lot of time on this campus and made a lot of memories here. I had great times in college...however, nothing compares to being Jack's wife and Logan's mommy.

touching base

Hello everyone. It has been a while since my last post. I am pretty sure I have my photo downloader all fixed now. I have lots of catching up to do with my pictures. Stay tuned for our trip to Salisbury University (the college where I graduated from)...Pemberton Park with Logan's cousins, Coco's Funhouse, and Wright's Market.

I also wanted to mention that jack received his new orders for the coming year. We were really feeling like this tour we were going to have to move again. Nebraska, and a few other states were in the works. However, Jack was blessed to get this first pick once again. He is back on the Kennebec here in Virginia for 3 years. Therefore, this means no moving! We are very excited that we are staying put. He will be second in charge on the Kennebec. This is the boat where he feels most at home. I am so very happy, proud, and excited for Jack. This is wonderful for his career and he deserves it. Jack will finish out his tour on the Sea Horse until next June or July. He will then start his next tour on the Kennebec.

CONGRATS CHIEF JACK!

Can it really be the start of another week? I used to dread Mondays. I enjoy them now! Every day feels like a weekend to me! I am very blessed that this season of my life I get to stay at home with Logan. Enjoying it while it lasts! : ) Have a great week everyone. Friday will be here before we know it!

Butternut Squash

Recipie time! This is  simple and classic....Butternut Squash. I know everyone probally already knows how to make squash. However, I will admit that I just learned. My inspiration to make this....Logan! This has been one of my son's favorite foods since about 4 months old. I had never tasted squash before in my life until I tasted some of his baby food. For me squash is an aquired taste. It grew on me as time went on. I looked it up on the Internet how to prepare squash and this is what I came up with. I cook it on top of the stove in EVOO and butter. I season it with black pepper and thyme. I also include a couple cloves of fresh garlic. I use a hand grater to grate in the garlic. Delicious! I LOVE this! It is very good for you too!
