Happy Halloween

BOO!
leaves are falling....
Happy Halloween!
Logan watching The Great Pumpkin.

He kept falling down because he was not used to his new kicks.

I hope everyone has fun tonight trick-or-treating. Jack is in Baltimore with work. He will be home tomorrow! Logan has been under the weather with a cold.  He actually goes to the doctor tomorrow. Bless his heart. He seems fine during the day. However, by night he seems miserable. So we are having a Halloween pajama day together and watching Sprout probally for most of the day. My parents came down this weekend. It was nice seeing them. Logan proved to be quite the mommom's boy this weekend. Mom and I went shopping and got Logan some cute new clothes. Logan and his Poppop had bonding time while me and my mom were out and about. Here are some pictures I took of Logan yesterday in his new boots. He wore this pumpkin hat last year for Halloween/Thanksgiving. It fits him much better this year. Have a great day everyone!

Preschool Registration

Logan checking things out while I was registering him for preschool.

It is official! My baby is signed up for preschool! You might be thinking...man she is way ahead of the game! Well..I am but this preschool is highly sought after where we live. If you want your child to get in at this preschool you pretty much have to register them when they are born. I am a year late but it all worked out. Logan will not be starting preschool until a few more years. The preschool is obviously located in a church. I love the cheerful and clean atmosphere this place provides. I feel like Logan will be safe there because the place is locked down with a doorbell and passcode system. Everyone is super sweet and all the children look very happy there. It is a christian based curriculum which I love. Some of the resources include, chapel, art, story time, music, physical education, nutrition/cooking, and field trips. I am very excited about this and look forward to this journey in Logan's life. However, I'm not wishing his life away at all....enjoying one day at a time!

A little runny nose and a little drool....I still think he's precious!

Elmo & Cookie Monster

To get in the spirit of Halloween I thought I would make some monster cookies. I did not want make anything too scary to frighten  my little munchkin. So I thought I would make some cute Cookie Monster cookies. Then I thought...since I am at it...might as well make some Elmo cookies too. Logan has been watching Sesame Street quite a bit. I thought he might enjoy these. Elmo and Cookie Monster were always my favorite characters on this show. These were so easy and fun to make and best of all....NO BAKING REQUIRED! My favorite part about these cookies are the minature chocolate chip cookies in the Cookie Monster's mouth. Looks like he is gobbling them right up!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

What's up my bloggy buddies?! Today has been a busy day! This morning I took Logan to get his flu shot. I pray that he does not have a reaction from it! After I got done with that I swung by Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte. (Pictured above.) Sorry about the picture quality...I do not know what is up with my cell phone. Yesterday was a pretty hectic day too...My dogs had fleas..but I now have it under control. However, I had to vaccum and scrub EVERYTHING down yesterday including the dogs! Now today.......it took me 50 minutes to find a parking spot at Portsmouth Naval. This is the first time it has ever been this bad! So I really can not complain. Next, I had to watch my baby get a needed which I absolutley hate. Logan was such a good boy getting his flu shot though. He cried for a spell and then he was fine. I went grocery shopping and came back home. After a busy and hectic 2 days I thought I would treat myself to a latte! It made me miss my sister though. When we are together we have coffee together. : ( I did not treat Logan with a latte for being a big boy but he got lots of hugs. He would probally prefer the hugs better anyway. I decided to make some cookies this afternoon while Logan took a nap. They are so cute! I will share them with you hopefully tonight or tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday!

The past two days have not been the best days out of my year. However, as long as my family is happy and healthy I'll embrace and be thankful for these hectic days if that is what it takes!

Have a great night!

ham & cabbage

My meal was a success. Hubbs and Logan both liked it! I made ham, cabbage, and cornbread. One of my favorites! I cooked my cabbage in a few slabs of salty ham and let it sit simmering all day. I LOVE cornbread and it compliments ham and cabbage well. I used Jack's grandmother's recipie which is super sweet. It consisits of sugar, soucream, cream style corn, corn muffin mix, butter, and eggs! It is just too good to be true. If you are interested in the recipie email me. If you notice I use some Great Value brands. There used to be a time when I would not be caught with Great Value anything in my shopping cart. I only bought name brand food items. However, I have had both and both taste very similar. The perk of course with Great Value is you are saving money! How vain was I? Geez. Lastly, I put my ham in the crockpot for about an hour. (The ham already comes fully cooked.) I like to get the spiral hams. A quarter pound is more than enough for the three of us. It usually comes with a brown sugar glaze. However, I do not like it. I would just rather throw on my own brown sugar, honey...etc. This time I did not do any of that. My husband does not like that anyway. I poured a little apple juice, chicken stock, and water in the base of my crockpot. That may sound weird but it is really good. I threw my ham in and covered the ham with rings of pineapple. Delicious!

Long story short....Jack ended up having to work last night. Therefore, my dinner had to wait until today. We had it for lunch and he really enjoyed a home cooked meal. It worked out for the best because we like this particualr meal on the second night anyway after it's been sitting all night.

It really feels like a fall today! I am loving it!

scribbles

He's got some big shoes to fill when daddy is not home! (Jack's slippers)
I am trying to get Logan to be a little creative so I had him do a little art work. Actually, it was more like scribbling and getting marker everywhere else but the paper! He had fun. I think it is a masterpiece! I framed it and displayed it in our guest bathroom. : ) This picture of Logan in the Simpson slippers was from this morning. Isn't he just a cutie?
It has been one BUSY morning and afternoon people! I woke up to feed my child breakfast...that in itself can take up to an hour and a half. You may be thinking....yea right! Listen...by the time Logan eats...throws food on the floor..and I clean up the floor...his tray...his pj's with food all over it...wipe his mouth, and hands..it can easily take up to an hour and a half to complete JUST BREAKFAST! You know it starts all over again when he eats lunch and dinner. hehehehehe...I really do enjoy it though...can't lie...it's slightly annoying. : )

Anyway...I decided that I needed to organize my master bedroom closet. BOO! This is not my cup-of-tea. I'd much rather just go shopping and hang my new clothes up in there. However, I still had all of my summer threads (clothes) still hanging up in there...and winter is quickly approaching. I finally finished switching out the summer for my winter clothes and I am EXHAUSTED! What a chore! I did all this in between watching and playing with Logan.

I somehow managed to prepare dinner for tonight. Isn't my husband just so lucky to be married to me? bahahahaha! I decided that ham, cabbage, and cornbread would be delicous! I used Mommom Arlene's recipie which I LOVE! I will post pictures of my lovely meal soon! Isn't that just exciting? : ) Jack has been working a heck of a lot so I figured I would spoil him a little tonight. I really do hope my supper turns out as planned.

Well..I better stop rambling...Logan is almost fallen asleep. I am in his bedroom right now with him. Sometimes he has to have me close by still when he goes down for naps. So I sit on my computer to entertain myself until he slips into dream land. That is what I am doing now...typing...waiting for Lo to go to sleep. I think it is safe for me to get up now.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thinking of my dear friends Catherine and Russell. They bury their baby girl today.

My heart aches for them.

wordless wednesday

I am going to start doing something new called wordless wednesday. Sometimes just a picture is worth a thousand words. I can not promise that I will get around to doing this every week but I will certainly try!

I would like to take a moment to send my deepest condolences to my friend Catherine and Russell. Their baby came into the world a little earlier than expected yesterday. Baby Lucy lived only a few short minutes and then went to heaven. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Coco's

They were really getting into their "driving."

This picture makes me laugh...look how high Grace jumped!

My little wiggle worm wanting to get down to play.
Lunch at the "Dragon Restaurant"
My sister and I recently took the kids for a chinese lunch at one of our favorite spots! Imperial Gallery! We then took Logan and Grace to Coco's Funhouse. Gavin was with us too, of course! However, he was doing what babies do best....sleeping! I have never laughed so hard watching G and Lo play. They played SO HARD! By the time we left we had two TIRED children. It is worth taking your child here because this place will wear them out! hehe! Logan was a brave little soul up against the bigger kids that were there. We will definitley be going back to Coco's soon. We had so much fun!
