Homegrown
This is fun daddy.
Our wagon full of petunias.Flower bed...unique idea...(when the flowers are blooming this is a beautiful idea.)
My friend, Frances told Jack and I about a place that sells beautiful flowers for great prices. Boy was she right! The gentleman we met there has his own flower farm right at his house. He grows everything on his own starting out as seedlings. We walked out with 8 wave petunias pots for the price of one. I can not wait to see those flowers blossom this summer. They are going to be stunning. Thank you Frances for sharing this place with us. We we will be heading back there again this summer! : )
Peas and Dumplings
This recipie reminds me so much of my grandmother, Grace. She used to make the best peas and dumplings hands down! She would pair it with pan fried steak and so much more other yummy food! Jack and I do not have her actual recipie that she used. However, I knew what it tasted like! Peas, dumplings, and SUGAR were tied in my memory of her recipie. We of course threw in frozen peas, a can of bisquits, (must be a regular can of bisquits & it does not matter which brand), butter, milk, and of course, sugar! Salt and pepper to taste and you may also add in some chicken stock. We left the stock out. You just heat it all through and enjoy! A ham or turkey sandwich and the peas and dumplings make a great duo! It really is delicious!
Happy Birthday!
Our niece, Cameron celebrated her 1st Birthday yesterday! She is a sweet little angel and we just love her to pieces. This picture was taken shortly after she was born. We love you baby girl!

Two years ago today, one of my worst nightmares came true. A tornado swept through where we live in Virginia. There was a lot of devastation to our community and to other towns surrounding ours. There were houses flattened by this F3 right in our own development. Thankfully no one was killed which was a miracle from God! Jack and I were both home when the tornado slammed our development. I remember the wind picking up really loud and I ran to the kitchen window to look outside. I saw the huge tornado coming right for our house. Jack and I grabbed our puppies and jumped in the bathtub. The house was shaking so hard and we heard a noise that sounded like a freight train. Debris was hitting the side of the house and Jack and I just knew that we were gonners! By the grace of God we were saved that day! Our house had extensive exterior damage. However, we were alive and for that we felt very blessed! I pulled some pictures from the Internet of the tornado...etc. I also posted some of my own pictures as well. The sun is shining here today and NO tornado is in the forecast! : )

Mustard Seed
He replied, Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. ~ Matthew 17:20
This verse has so much meaning to me. To me this means that even if you have the smallest amount of faith in Him you can do anything or make it through anything because you have the Lord in your life. As you can see a mustard seed is not very big. He loves us so much he will be there for us with even though we may choose to trust him just a little. Imagine what God can do for us as our faith grows in him and we lean on him 100%! When you have God living in your heart he will "move your mountains" by carrying the load for you. Turn it all over to Him.

just like daddy
I took similiar pictures of Logan in his daddy's work hat a few months ago. Recently Jack added the Coast Guard pendant on the front and I thought it looked really nice. So here is yet another picture of baby boy trying to look like Jack.
P.S. Isn't Logan starting to look a little like me? I think so! : )
Crazy Love
So I am reading a great book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I came across a great point and it really touched my heart. Therefore, I felt it was blog worthy to share with you. Francis said, "How could I not trust a heavenly, perfect Father who loves me infinitely more than I will ever love my kids?
Matthew 7:11 says, If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
What a beautiful reminder of God's love for all of us! He loves me just like I love Logan.
I just started reading this book about a week ago. I really am enjoying this book. He really makes you stop and think.

That is not sweat on baby boys shirt...just drool! It was a nice day...
It was too gorgeous outside to be cooped up inside. So I lathered the sunscreen on baby boy and threw down a blanket on the grass. We chilled outside for atleast an hour together. I was surprised Logan lasted that long. Remember when you were a kid when you would see different things in the clouds....like a teddy bear playing a trumpet.... Well that is what I thought of today as I was basking in the sun looking up at the clouds. I used to do this when I was a little kid. I am really enjoying my time with Logan. I am enjoying it while I can. Sooner or later I will have to head back to work. I have no plans anytime soon though...that is a little more down the road. Looking forward to more Logan and Momma time tomorrow. : ) Goodnight.

Whoah...this is fun dada.
Love.
Love that sweet baby face.
Look at the mess I made, mommy.
Made you smile....
Today Logan was what I like to say, "out of sorts." He could just not get himself straightened out today. I was not sure if he was teething or if he just got a touch of cabin fever. All he seemed to want today was to be with his mommy. Sweet...however a needy baby makes a tired mommy! He is worth it though! Jack and I decided that we needed to all just get out of the house. We headed to Lone Star Lakes to take in some fresh air. I think it really did all three of us good. We slid by Dardens Country Store. Dardens is way out in the boondocks and they have great ham sandwiches. However, they were closed. In the summer beautiful sunflowers grow around the store and in the fall they have a cute pumpkin patch and activities for kids. It is really just a cute little farmer store. After our little outting Logan seemed to be tons better. Jack spent the day doing home repairs. I played with Logan most of the day. He hung out with me while I sorted through tons and tons of his clothes to pass on to his cousin-to-be, Gavin. Going through all of Logan's clothes brought back many memories from a few months ago. My..my...how babies grow so fast! All of his clothes were so tiny. Siiiigh! : ( I hope all my blogger pals had a great weekend.

Hanging out at Gracie's.
Sweet.
Jack had to be in New Jersey this past week for work. So Logan and I headed to the shore for a little family time. We stayed so busy and it was a lot of fun. We hung out with his cousin, Grace and Aunt Heather. We took the youngins to the zoo on Monday. This was Logan's first time at a zoo. I do not know who he was entertained most by...the animals or his cousin, Grace. The otters were a big hit! We let them play at the park too and that was of course a big hit...especially the swings. We left the park and ate at "The Dragon Restaurant" as Miss Gracie would say. : ) My mom took off work one day to hang out with Logan and I. We headed to Ocean City for the day. My goodness...it was a gorgeous day to hang out near the ocean! This was Logan's first time on the boardwalk. He was so entertained by all the happenings there on the boards. We got some pizza at the Dough Roller....yum! You also can not go to Ocean City without picking up some Dollie's popcorn. My mom, dad, Logan, and I went to Chincoteague one afternoon as well. We drove over to the beach to look at his Poppop Jack's work he has been doing at the beach. Logan loved his poppop's equipment he uses at work. He seemed to be amazed by it all. It was a wonderful week on the Eastern Shore. However, it was good to get back home to Jack when it was all said and done. We sure did miss daddy this week!
Special shout out to three GREAT kids...Collin, Caitlyn, and Cameron! April is a hot month for my nieces and nephews. All three are celebrating birthdays this month! We love you three and hope you have a HAPPY HAPPY Birthday! We also want to remember our niece, Courtney who would had also been celebrating her birthday this month too with her twin, Caitlyn. We love you and miss you Courtney! You are our family's angel.
